Joining us for our GROUNDED mix series this week is Eli Samuel. Eli is a Netherlands based DJ, with a passion for house music. His unique deep house, minimal sound and production epitomises the sound of the Netherlands and has led him to playing across the country with some of the industries finest DJs. We spoke with Eli to find out how his love for djing began and advise on getting the most out of lockdown...
What style of mix have you gone for?
This mix is a selection of minimal/deep/groovy house.
What inspires you to do music?
I have always listened to a lot of music, and there came a time when I listened to so much music that I thought I should do something with it! So then I started playing with Ableton and mixing! My friends like my music and are always supporting it so i'm a happy man!
What’s your favourite part of the mix?
Honestly, my favorite part of the mix is all of it... there are only bangers in there, so what's not to like! Got two unreleased tracks from myself in the mix, so I hope you like them!
What’s your top tip for isolation?
My tip for isolation is to focus a lot on your music, now is the time that you can improve yourself! Also, work with other artists, send your music back and forth to each other, you will learn a lot from doing that. And of course keep the 2M distance!
What’s the first thing you’ll do when we are no longer Grounded?
After quarantine I would like to play at parties as soon as possible, and go in to the studio with many other producers!
