Joining us for our Friday mix is Iggs, a London based DJ who makes up one half of the duo, Iggs & Biles. Iggs is getting us ready for the weekend with his throwback mix of the golden era of Deep house. For all the house heads out there, this mix will take you back to the days of Crèche and Feast at 93 Feet East. Iggs and biles have played throughout the UK and Ibiza, DJing at some of the industries biggest venues including Space Ibiza, Motion Bristol, Great Gallery at Tobacco Docks, Ministry of Sound and many more! We spoke with Iggs to find out more about his sound and plans after lockdown.
What style of mix have you gone for?
Bringing it back to that “2012” era where me and my lot really got out and about. It was a really different sound at the time and some of these old tunes have stood the rest of time. This mix was a good chance to bring it back to where it started for a lot of people our age.
What inspires you to do music?
Always loved digging for and playing records that people haven’t heard before and wouldn’t of heard otherwise, nothing better then when a “risky” tune goes off.
What's your favourite part of the mix?
55:00, I still remember that fur coat tune being dropped at The House and Terrace (before it was Studio 338) by Alex Arnout or Robert James, still pops today!
What’s your top tip in isolation?
Keep busy, keep a routine and dust off the Xbox.
What’s the first thing you’ll do when we are no longer Grounded?
Big party somewhere where everyone goes for days whilst I peak early and crash, always been the way.
