Joining us this week is Markus Jeffery, a London & Kent based DJ who co-founded Soulace in 2017. Designed for "the real party people", Soulace was born from a family of like minded musical taste and ambition; launching with a fresh impetus to create a new standard of party. With the promise to surprise ravers every time, this is not an event you want to miss. We caught up with Jeffery to hear more about his passion for music, and who is at the top of his lockdown playlist...
What style of mix have you gone for?
After listening to some of the great artists you’ve had on board so far, I’ve put a mix together which combines my personal sound with the rolling, deep tech vibe of the GROUNDED series.
What made you start mixing?
Being a big Jungle & DnB fan when I was a kid! Looked up to the likes of Andy C, Kenny Ken and Grooverider. Still a big fan but a lot has changed since then!
What's your favourite part of the GROUNDED mix you've created for today?
If you could throw a party anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?
Anywhere that doesn’t adhere to covid guidelines…#letusdance ! In all seriousness, Barcelona was a big inspiration for myself and my Soulace partners. The intimate parties, unique locations and ever booming sound systems in such a beautiful city is what inspired us to launch just over 3 years ago. Maybe you will see us there sooner than you think....
Which other artist are you digging at the moment, and have you been listening to in lockdown?
I’ve been delving into lots of 90s music. Whether it be tech house, NY deep house or white label UKG, that’s the era that most of the records I buy are from.
Whats your tip top for getting through these past months in lockdown?
Adapting to the increasingly digital world we live in. We all want to get out and live normally again but with everything that’s going on there are certainly new opportunities to be taken advantage of!
