For the thirteenth week of our GROUNDED mix series, DJ & producer, Lewis Clayton joins us. Lewis is from the south coast of England and started his journey into the music industry roughly 7 years ago. His rolling flow and deep sounds create the perfect mixes to have on repeat and get lost in. He is also very experimental when it comes to producing, and enjoys finding new sounds to reflect his personality. We spoke with Lewis to find out some more about him and his love for djing and music, and staying creative during lockdown...
What style of mix have you gone for?
I've gone for a very underground house/minimal vibe on this mix as thats what i enjoy playing the most.
What inspires you to do music?
Creativity and discovery of new sounds inspires me the most to play and produce music, I love the feeling of playing to a crowd and also hearing that other artists/producers enjoy my productions.
What’s your favourite part of the mix?
I honestly couldn't say I have a favourite part of the mix as it's a selection of sounds that I love!
What’s your top tip for isolation?
My top tip would be keep creating and make sure you're listening and reading new and exciting content every day, follow and speak to your favourite artists, they're in the same situation so they have just as much spare time as you to connect and discover.
What’s the first thing you’ll do when we are no longer GROUNDED?
First thing I'll do when lockdown is over is go to London to dig out some new vinyls to expand my collection and knowledge of the music industry.
