Another week at home means another GROUNDED mix. Rhys the Kid is serving up some whoppers to start your week right for our seventh week of bangers. We spoke with Rhys who founded Local Recordings, a minimal house music label, to find out how he is making the most of his time at home and where his love for music began...
What style of mix have you gone for?
I've gone for a minimal house mix.
What inspires you to do music?
I couldn’t tell you where the inspiration came from. Every since I was young I’ve always had a passion for music, it started off playing instruments and when I met a producer in college who showed me Ableton and how you can make music on a laptop, it was game over and I became addicted to making music from then.
What’s your top tip for isolation?
You will never get an opportunity like this again in your life, use this time to learn a new skill or decorate that room you’ve always said you would, don’t just get messy everyday - it’s a waste.
What’s the first thing you’ll do when we are no longer GROUNDED?
There’s too much to pick from, but definitely go dam!
